We are proud to share that the Larson family and the Matthew Larson Foundation for Pediatric Brain Tumors (IronMatt) are featured in this month’s issue of Franklin Lakes Living.
The article, written by Christine Christopoul with photography by Michael S. Barr, spotlights the nineteen-year journey of IronMatt, from a grassroots effort launched around a neighborhood table to an organization providing national relief and research funding.
Celebrating the Community That Made It Possible
While the piece highlights the Foundation’s reach — delivering over $6.9 million in direct relief to 3,133+ families and more than $9.3 million across 102 research grants — its heart centers on the power of community.
As Kelly Larson shared in the interview, the Foundation’s roots will always belong to our neighbors:
“It started with the Franklin Lakes community. It started with Kirsten and all the ladies going to her house. Many of them have been involved from the beginning… My friends lift me up, and I know that if I ever needed something, they would be there to take care of me.”
Whether volunteering at events, running with our marathon teams, gathering at the Indian Trail Club for Mattfest, or serving on committees, the Franklin Lakes community continues to be the bedrock supporting children and parents facing pediatric brain cancer.
