WHAT WE DO

At IronMatt, our mission is twofold:

1. Funding research to find a cure and develop better treatments
2. Helping families in their greatest time of need

This mission is our North Star, guiding everything we do.

On this website and through events and fundraisers, we aim to raise at least $777,000 each year, which goes directly to research grants and family assistance.

Why It Matters

This work is critical to save children affected by pediatric brain tumors. Over the past 20 years, there has been a steady increase in the number of cases, making childhood brain cancers the second most common cancers in children — and the most deadly.

Currently, close to 5,000 children and teens are diagnosed each year. That’s 1 in 285 children… 43 children a day. Research is key to reducing these numbers. Yet sadly, only 4% of federal funding for cancer research goes to studies on pediatric cancer.

That is why foundations like IronMatt are so important. Since 2007, the Foundation has provided over $6 million in funding for a total of 75 research projects at important institutions across the U.S. and Canada.
