DONATE THROUGH YOUR DONOR-ADVISED FUND (DAF)
Put your charitable dollars to work immediately with a grant recommendation.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is one of the most flexible, tax-advantaged ways to support IronMatt. If you have already contributed assets to a DAF at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or your local community foundation, you have already taken your tax deduction — recommending a grant today puts those resources to work directly supporting our mission.
From Supporting Families Fighting Pediatric Brain Cancer,
To Searching For a Cure
From supporting thousands of individual children and their families fighting pediatric brain cancer, to funding groundbreaking research initiatives searching for a cure, your donations have allowed us to make an incredible impact on the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.
Without you, it would not be possible.
Because when we fight cancer together, we are strong, we are fearless, we are IronMatt.
RECOMMEND A GRANT ONLINE
If your fund is hosted with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon, you can initiate a grant recommendation right now clicking “Give via DAF” below:
How Donor-Advised Funds Work
-
You Fund the DAF: You make an irrevocable, tax-deductible contribution of cash, appreciated stock, or other assets to your sponsoring organization (like Fidelity, Schwab, or a Community Foundation).
-
Your Assets Grow Tax-Free: While you consider which causes to support, the funds are invested according to your preferences and can generate more capital for charitable causes without capital gains exposure.
-
You Recommend Grants to IronMatt: You advise your fund sponsor to distribute money to IronMatt whenever you choose — as a one-time gift, an annual distribution, or a recurring commitment.
-
IronMatt Puts Your Gift to Action: Your sponsor sends the grant directly to us, allowing us to fund our core programs without administrative delay. As a 100% model charity, we ensure every dollar of your gift goes directly to family assistance and research grants.

Help Us Connect Your Gift
Many DAF sponsors distribute checks with minimal donor information. If you recommend a grant, please take 30 seconds to send an email to gifts@ironmatt.org letting us know your fund name and the amount.
That way, we can promptly recognize your support!
Why Donors Choose DAF Giving to IronMatt
Tax Optimization: You receive an immediate federal tax deduction in the year you make the contribution to your DAF, even if you recommend grants to IronMatt across several future years.
Avoid Capital Gains: Funding your DAF with long-term appreciated stock avoids the capital gains tax you would owe if you sold the shares yourself, yielding up to 20% more value for charity.
Recurring Support: Many sponsors allow you to set up automatic monthly or annual grant distributions to IronMatt, providing dependable, ongoing revenue for our operations.
Family Philanthropy: DAFs allow you to name successor advisors or involve family members in deciding which causes to fund together.
Important Operational & IRS Guidelines
Tax Receipts: Because you received your charitable tax deduction at the moment you deposited funds into your DAF, IRS regulations prohibit IronMatt from issuing a standard tax receipt for a DAF grant. We will, however, gladly send an acknowledgment of your generous grant recommendation and update on the impact your gift is making.
No Goods or Services (No “Quid Pro Quo”): Under IRS rules, grants from a DAF cannot be used to pay for anything that provides a personal, tangible benefit back to the donor. This includes event tickets, gala dinner seats, golf tournament entries, or auction purchases. DAF grants must represent 100% tax-deductible support.
Legally Binding Pledges: IRS guidelines restrict using a DAF grant to fulfill an existing, legally binding personal pledge. If you wish to support IronMatt through your DAF on a multi-year basis, please designate it as a “letter of intent” or an ongoing recurring grant recommendation.
