0n April 26th, NYCRUNS will host over 25,000 runners at the annual Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon. Runners have the opportunity to push their physical limits while running the historic neighborhoods of Brooklyn. Some runners, however, choose to do more than challenge themselves physically. Some choose the event as a platform to raise money for a cause near and dear to their heart. That’s exactly what this young supporter of IronMatt will do. Please read her words below and help her run for our cause.
Hi, my name is Maggie. This April, I’ll be running the Brooklyn Half Marathon to raise funds for the Iron Matt Foundation.
The Foundation was created to honor the life of Matthew Larson and supports children and families affected by pediatric brain tumors.
IronMatt helps lift the weight off families facing pediatric brain tumors by providing urgent financial support and by funding research that pushes us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Pediatric brain tumors are devastating, emotionally, physically, and financially and IronMatt helps ease that burden so families can focus on what matters most.
I’m running these 13.1 miles because every child deserves the chance to live a long, healthy life, and every family deserves support during their hardest moments. Your donation, big or small, will go directly toward that mission.
